The Wolf Among Us

Telltale's Wolf among us, is it good? Well let me answer that question by answering more questions. How does it play? Well it plays exactly as any other Telltale game, you are put in events that require you to select options to speak and seek out objects in areas to solve the case you're presented with and your decisions effect how the story flows for better or worse.
The music of this game is very well not very present, but a big soundtrack would not fit this game very well but it's art style is beautiful, giving a comic book feel, because well, this game is a prequel to a comic series called Fables.
A comic from DC/Vertigo, Fables follows a group of fairy tale characters exiled to New York City after their worlds were taken over by an evil called the Adversary. All the non human looking fables were sent to the farm and the rest in a district of New York known to it's residents as Fabletown, a secret to the city and the world and the city is patrolled by the Sheriff, Bigby Wolf, the big bad wolf.
Anyway the game starts up with Bigby saving a prostitute from a drunken Woodsman which leads into a QTE fight, Now normally I hate QTE's but this is the sort of game where it's acceptable.
The story continues when the girl's head turns up left on the doorstep of the apartment building where Bigby lives and the case begins leading into a mystery that will reveal a seedy underbelly of Fabletown and a nemesis that is more terrible than the Big Bad Wolf.
This game does have problems, but not with the game itself, now all the episodes are available to download, but when this came out, we had to wait 4 months for episode 2 with no comment from Taletell for what was going on and when it did come out the season pass didn't work. It does now, but that feeling of betrayal soiled this game for me, but this game is very good especially if you're a Fables fan. The voice work for the characters is spot on as they do meet expectations of what you'd think they'd sound like from reading the comics. Replay-ability isn't very great as with most telltale games, you do have to go through episodes several times to find all the secret pages of the Book of Fables which is a guide to the characters and areas of the game for those not aware of the comic's history, but beyond that it's not a game you're gonna play over and over.
All your decisions are posted online and compared to other players to see how you did compared to the rest of the world, but this game is pretty much nothing but a story mode, but that's all it needs, it's not a game to spend huge amounts of time on, but a quick exciting mystery for a rainy day.
Bigby is a former villain trying to redeem himself and your actions will change how the town reacts to him, will he stay seen as a villain or become the town's hero it's all up to you and your decisions.

But I want to say more about the game, but it would spoil the mystery, but should you download and play it...
Of fucking course, get your ass out there and buy this game and while you're at it, get your ass to your local bookstore...
AND BUY THE GODDAMN FABLE SERIES YOUR DARK LORD COMMANDS IT!
I'm The Joel MH and why are you still here?!
