A Link Between Worlds

Hi there, Zelda, what can I say about it, a series with very few bad games.
Shut up, we don't count those. There have only really been 3 bad zeldas. Zelda 2 only cause it's different, Spirit Tracks, but I'll get to that another day, as well as Skyward Sword and here's why that sucks and no not just Fi. The control system. Here's an idea, let's celebrate 25 years of a series by making a game on a system that alienates it's older fans, well done. Anyway onto the main event.
Whoa Navi, what are you doing this is my gig, get lost, where was I, this is The Legend of Zelda: A Link between Worlds.

Check out the reversible cover. This game is a direct sequel to A Link to the Past, despite coming after the oracle games and link's awakening on the timeline and just before the original zelda and zelda 2. The overworld of Hyrule is 90% identical to the original LTTP Hyrule with a whole new quest.
Navi, what are you still doing here? But yes you're right, there are a lot of dungeons in the same place with the same name but redesigned yes. But does A link to the past have the ability to turn into a drawing on the wall to go through gaps to small or cross gaps, no I didn't think so. As this game's gimmick as most Zeldas do, it works really really well. It makes you look at the top down world of LTTP more three dimensionally, a gap between the trees on the Link to the Past, now you can go down there to find treasures you couldn't before.

Yes, that's true-ish, while yes there are no dungeon items per-se, the dungeons in the second half do have hidden treasures such as the hylian shield or the Master Ore which allows you to increase the damage of the Master Sword. No the items for the most part are bought from a dude called Ravio who allows you to rent them for a low price and buy them later on which means, well if you die with rented items, the items are taken away and you have to rent them again, but if you buy them, they are always yours and you can upgrade them by catching small little creatures called Maiamai and take them back to their mother. Oh and I forgot to mention, items now use a energy bar for usage, which most of them do which recovers when not in use, meaning you no longer need to run around looking for arrows or bombs anymore and makes an excellent replacement for the magic meter. Though I was hesitant at first about the items all being bought, but it makes you more afraid of dying than before.
Yes, I will admit the story is really similar, basically the villain known as Yuga captures the latest decendants of the sages and Zelda and turns them into portraits. So you go on a quest to retrieve the three pendants to get the master sword and then save the seven sages and Zelda in Lorule, the game's version of the Dark World and all of this is to revive Ganon, except that it's not, there is a twist in this story but I won't spoil it, let's just say that Lorule is a mirror to Hyrule.
Yes, it does, but it alters them, for example Moldorm can now be hurt with the hammer and it's less of a pain in the ass than in ALTTP. And the water temple boss, once weakened now shoots lasers at you and I'm sorry but the thieves' town boss is brilliant.
The game does have it's share of minigames, which I didn't really play to much, they were awkward as hell and you don't have to do them though, only if you want heart pieces. But overall this game...
No, it's not, it's a classic, I mean it's not Ocarina of Time or Twilight Princess but it's pretty close, I actually prefer it over the original Link to the Past.
Oh, now I see what this about, you hate all Zeldas that don't have you in it, don't you, you're that pissed off about not being in the games anymore, that you come and piss on this game on my blog.

No, you really weren't, you were the worst part of  it, you annoyed everyone half to death and the only things worse than you in the series are Fi and Tingle. You are a more annoying fairy than Alan Carr.
Sorry I wasn't listening, fly on home now. Huh guess I have a nemesis now and it's a fairy. To finish off this game has no sidekick, no one holding your hand, you're giving a map with marks on it, but beyond that you're free to explore as you see fit. To finish up, A Link Between Worlds, it's kind of short but totally worth it. So go out and buy it. Well, it's New Year's Eve and I've just reviewed two good games, can it be that from now on, I'll only review good games, how great is that, so what have I got next for the new year?
FUCK! I'm The JoelMH, Have a Happy New Year, and I'm signing off (sigh)
