Top 5 Snow and Ice Levels in Video Games

Merry Christmas everybody, so what can we all say about christmas, well there's snow, let's look outside, shall we...
Okay not so much anyway... here's a top 5 snow and ice levels.

5. Surface (Goldeneye 007)
The Legendary Goldeneye with it's two stages in one. The first time you visit Surface you have to enter the base through an air vent after deactivating the radio tower whilst avoiding setting off the alarms during the day to your return where you sneak around at night where there are more guards and an armored helicopter outside the front door which you have to enter to get captured for the following level. Surface is a good snow level and a good stealth one at that.

4. Cliffhanger (Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2)
Okay no more shooters I promise... Cliffhanger has you scaling an ice wall with pick axes where one mistake and you fall to your death, followed by sneaking around a base in a blizzard watching your heartbeat detector carefully as if one person finds you, it's all over.

3. Ice Path (Pokemon Gold/Silver/Crystal/Heart Gold/Soul Silver)
Just after you defeat the ice gym leader and dealing with his tricky ice sliding puzzles, you're then giving this daunting cave to deal with. This place had way harder ice puzzles and this place took me a long time to crack and no other Pokemon game has topped the challenge of Ice Path.

2. Ice Paradise (Sonic Advance 2)
What awaits you in Ice Paradise is high paced snowy routes, with slippery floors, grind rails, sideways half pipes and air cannons that can set you on random paths and oh I forgot the slides you slide down as well, extremely fast paced and doesn't suffer from the stereotypical snow level problems like the slip and slide into a death pit.

And now for Number one from my most favourite Zelda game.
GET OUT!

1. Snowpeak Ruins (Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess)
On a quest for a mirror shard you come across a yeti heading home to care for his sick wife and he says he has the mirror shard. Entering the dungeon he tells you it's locked behind a door and you need their bedroom key but as you search for it you keep finding food, food which is made into the Yeti's wife's soup to help her feel better.

As well as finding as finding a ball and chain to smash ice with, you use cannons by loading them with cannonballs and bombs to blow away ice out of reach of your ball and chain, digging through the snow in wolf form, fighting ice golems and navigating broken ceiling beams covered ice and rocking chandelures ending with an unbelievably messed up boss.
But in the end, love triumphs over the ice creature within and if that doesn't feel like Christmas... plenty of other things do. I'm The Joel MH signing off!
