Starfox ASSault

So after last time's game that turned Starfox into Zelda, here we have a game that mostly turned Starfox into well Starfox Troopers and when I say that, evil space bugs invade, everyone teams up to take them down, yeah I've pretty much nailed it, the plot is quite lazy, well people can get taken over by the bugs, but I'll get into that...
The game starts off with Starfox heading out to destroy what's left of Andross' forces from Lylat Wars and it plays like an actual Starfox game.
But sadly my happiness comes to a close with level 2, where Fox is on foot with a blaster, okay it's better than Adventures in that regard and yes and in some of the on foot levels you get to use a Landmaster...
and yes there are levels where you can jump between on foot and using an arwing....
or riding on the wing of an arwing with a blaster cannon...
but for the most part you run around on foot with clumsy third person shooting controls.
The Starfox team has also changed with Peppy just as an advisor with Krystal taking up his arwing, so he's still here to say...
Sadly the story campaign is short with only 10 levels, and while you played through less levels in Lylat Wars, there were much more there due to divergent paths depending on your actions, here there's no replay value as there's no divergent paths, just one set course which feels wrong.
In fact there is very little pure Arwing levels, on fact only 3 of them are straight Arwing levels, level 1, 8 and the final level which I won't lie is a very good level and a good example of excellent Starfox design in fact all of the Arwing levels are.
But every other level you play just makes you wish you were playing the Arwing levels, I mean why do this, why make the main reason people play the series rare in the game. Okay how can I explain this.... Imagine making a Die Hard movie and instead of intense gun play, stunts and Bruce Willis, instead it takes a heel turn and spends 70% of the movie explaining the uses of Sorghum.
Not cool. Luckily this game does have one saving grace, the multiplayer, just like Lylat Wars, it contains Arwings, Landmasters and yes on foot, but you can play on Arwing exclusive levels, and besides the on foot thing isn't so bad here, okay yes I should diss it the same for being used in story, but Lylat used on foot for multiplayer as well, it just didn't bloat the story mode with it.
So overall is it a bad game... no-ish, it's fucking better than Adventures, it's not trying to be fucking Zelda, no it was trying to be Starship Troopers so it's a little closer, and well they could have had one man save this game, make it totally like Troopers and have Clancy Brown as a field commander.
Totally the best actor in that movie. Anywho as I've said before it's Arwing sections are par maybe even better than Lylat Wars, but the problem is it's too bogged down by everything else in the story, though the multiplayer does save it a bit as it's probably one of the best parts of the game, so my final score is...
But next time, we deal with the last Starfox game, the one we've been waiting for and believe me, I'm not gonna have anyway of being kind to this piece of shit, Next Time, Starfox Command.
